Adamson students and employees who need a comfortable place to stay inside the campus won’t wait long to find their problem adequately addressed. A new 12-story building will soon rise right at the back of Adamson’s main building and St. Vincent de Paul Parish Church.

A project of the administration that has been on the drawing board for quite some time, the Falcon Tower, as this latest upcoming Adamsonian structure is dubbed, was finally given the first push towards its realization with the groundbreaking ceremony held last February 12 at the back of the SVP church. Vincentian priests and brothers, University administrators, faculty, staff and alumni were present during the ceremony which was preceded by an audio-visual presentation of the floor plans and interiors of the proposed edifice. No less than Hon. Alfredo Lim, City Mayor of Manila, was the guest of honor. In his speech, he assured University President Fr. Gregg L. Bañaga, Jr., C.M. that he will help facilitate the approval of pertinent documents and granting of permits for the construction so the project can be fast tracked and brought to completion in a year’s time. Fr. Gregg expressed his thanks to Mayor Lim, the Adamson community, the alumni and all those who are supporting the project. Fr. Rolando Santos, C.M., Provincial Visitor of the Congregation of the Mission, hoped for a smooth and accident-free construction.

The Falcon Tower will have a main lobby, hotel, cafeteria, food court, function room, students’ dormitory, and residential units for employees. Residential quarters for the Vincentian religious community will be located at the upper floors.

On February 10, a similar ceremony was held exclusively for the University community as part of the week-long celebration of the University’s 79th foundation.
