To spice up the evening celebration of the 77th Grand Alumni Homecoming last February 12 at the SV building grounds, a dance showdown among the different colleges and offices of the University was staged after the dinner. “Sayaw Pinoy, Sayaw Adamsonian 2011” was organized by the Adamson University Alumni Association, Inc. (AUAAI) in coordination with the Cultural Affairs Office whose director, Ms. Nenita Dimapilis, served as the event consultant. P.E. teachers were designated trainors of the competing groups composed of alumni, administrators, faculty and employees. Each group performed a traditional native dance complete with colorful costumes and crafted props. The series of performances gave the returning alumni an exciting experience that made their evening memorable.

The panel of judges declared the Basic Education Department the winner with their fine rendition of the “Karatong” dance choreographed by Ms. Jocelyn de la Cruz. Ms. De la Cruz received the Best Trainor award. Coming in second was the Co-academic Group composed of personnel from different offices who performed the “Pasigin,” a dance about fishing choreographed by Ms. Rosalia Erpelo. Third place went to the College of Nursing who performed “Sala ti Mais,” a dance about harvesting corn choreographed by Mr. Rizaldy Hofileña.
